The abstract artist, Rita Bloom

In her vibrant and uplifting abstract paintings, Rita Bloom (b.1983) often conjures distinct ambiences through different layers of paint. In a sense, the artist wishes to invite the viewer to teleport to new dimensions.

“ I could argue that each piece has a unique batch of qualities, like the scent of a well mixed perfume or a piece of music well played.

Everytime I start a new artwork, I prefer for it to be different from the last. The visions playing in my mind are so abundant that I need to manifest as much as I can into this physical reality, otherwise I feel like I’m going to burst!"

The contrast between smooth, fluid backgrounds and bold and intuitive mark making in the  front, creates narratives that stimulate our perception and directs our attention to the endless possibilities

that permeate our existence as human beings.

Rita was born in Lisbon, Portugal, where she is based at the moment. She worked as graphic designer for many years and in 2024 the only thing that she could think of was to revisit her earliest big passion for painting.

Changing the computer for the canvas was a major relief and so it began the path to abstract art.

The style that was more suited to express the multiple dimensions of her inner world.
